First Steps for New Believers

You did it. You heard the truth about Jesus — that He died for your sins and rose again — and something in you said yes. Maybe you prayed at church, at camp, in your room, in a car. Maybe you're still not sure what exactly happened to you, only that it was real.

So: now what?

That is not a new question. It is one of the oldest questions in the Christian faith. On the very first day of the church, a crowd of people who had just heard about Jesus asked the apostles the exact same thing: what do we do now? This book is the answer the apostles gave them — found in the book of Acts, chapter 2, the day of Pentecost, when about three thousand people believed in Jesus in a single day and had to figure out, by sundown, what a follower of Jesus actually does.

You don't need to master all of this today. You need to start. One step, then the next. That's what this book is for — twelve short chapters, one practice at a time, each one ending with something to do, something to think about, and a prayer you can actually pray.
