The Golden Rule Made Simple

by Kimani Upshur, M.Ed.

"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets." Spoken by the Lord Jesus Christ in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 7:12), the Golden Rule is not a slogan — it is the personal command of the Son of God and Son of Man, summarizing the entire Old Testament in one sentence. This Bible-first guide takes that sentence apart and puts it back together in your real life: what the rule is, why it sums up the Law and the Prophets, the mirror test for daily decisions, loving your neighbor, bearing burdens, the rule at home and at work, with enemies, with money, in conflict, in your speech, toward the least of these, and in forgiveness — plus straight answers to fourteen honest questions about the rule.
