The Fall of Ai Made Simple

by Kimani Upshur, M.Ed.

Defeat at Ai — then victory by the ambush. This Scripture-first guide follows Israel through Joshua 7-8: the sin of Achan that turned triumph at Jericho into defeat before a little city, Joshua's despair and God's solemn answer, the purging in the Valley of Achor, and the Lord's own strategy — the feigned retreat, the hidden ambush, the stretched-out javelin, and the smoke rising to heaven — ending with the covenant renewed on Mount Ebal. Every chapter points to Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Son of Man, who bore our judgment so that all who believe are purged, cleansed, and restored. Sinned. Purged. Conquered.
