The Canaanite Woman Made Simple

by Kimani Upshur, M.Ed.

"O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt." (Matthew 15:28) The Canaanite Woman — she cried after the Lord Jesus Christ for her demon-possessed daughter, would not be turned away, and heard Him say, "O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt" (Matthew 15:21-28). The Canaanite Woman Made Simple is a plain-language, Bible-first walk through eight verses of Matthew's Gospel and the Gentile mother inside them whom Jesus commended above all others. Across ten short chapters, you'll follow her cry from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, through heaven's silence, past the disciples' dismissal, through worship at Jesus' feet, to the wisest answer ever given to the hardest word — "Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table" — and the crown: "great is thy faith." Every chapter opens with Scripture and ends with one clear action step, because difficult information should be made simple for everyday people. Persistent. Humble. Answered. The Father hears, the Son commends, and the Spirit gives the boldness to keep crying.
