Sabbath Made Simple

Sabbath — God rested on the seventh day and commands His people to do the same (Exodus 20:8-11; Mark 2:27). Before there was a church, a temple, or a single commandment on stone, there was the Sabbath. God worked six days, then rested on the seventh, blessed it, and made it holy (Genesis 2:2-3). Then He wrote it into the Ten Commandments with His own finger: "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy" (Exodus 20:8). Rest is not a luxury. It is not laziness. It is a commandment from a Father who loves you. Sabbath Made Simple is a Bible-first guide to God's gift of rest. Scripture leads every chapter. You will walk through creation rest, the manna in the wilderness, the fourth commandment, the Sabbath as a sign of the covenant, Isaiah's call to delight, Jesus as Lord of the Sabbath, doing good on the Sabbath, the rest that remains in Hebrews 4, and the eternal rest that never ends. Every chapter opens with Scripture and ends with one action step. The appendix answers fourteen honest questions: Which day is the Sabbath? Did Jesus abolish it? What if my job requires weekends? What about my phone? And the book closes with a prayer to the Father, through Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit.
