Jephthah Made Simple
The outcast son became Gilead's captain — by a vow and a victory. This Scripture-first guide follows Jephthah through Judges 11:1-12:7 and Hebrews 11:32: the son driven out by his brothers, the wilderness years in Tob, the elders' desperate offer, the brilliant diplomacy with the king of Ammon, the coming of the Spirit of the Lord, the solemn vow and its heartbreaking cost, the rout of the Ammonites, the tragedy of Shibboleth, and six years of judging Israel — ending with his name in the Hall of Faith. Every chapter points to Jesus Christ, the greater Deliverer: rejected like Jephthah, victorious forever. Vowed. Fought. Delivered.
