Most Christians can name the twelve disciples and know Luther nailed something to a door, and after that church history is a blur. This book tells the full two-thousand-year story plainly: martyrs and monks, emperors and reformers, revivalists and missionaries who gave their lives on distant shores. It shows readers that this is their own family story, the line running from a frightened group of disciples in an upper room to their church today, just as Jesus promised when he said he would build his church.
